Ongoing Local Government Consultations

There are several local government consultations underway which members may be interested in responding to. They have the potential to affect Quarry.

Oxford temporary congestion charge.  Consultation closing date 3 August.

The County Council is proposing a temporary congestion charge with the aim of reducing traffic around Oxford during Network Rail’s extended closure of Botley Road. When Botley Road reopens, they will introduce the traffic filters trial as planned and the temporary congestion charge will end. You can access the consultation via this link.

Oxford’s 2042 Local Plan (preferred options). Consultation closing date 8 August.

Oxford City Council is seeking views on the latest stage of the Oxford Local Plan 2042.  This stage provides the main opportunity to consider and comment on the options for policies that will make up the local plan. You can access the consultation via this link.

Local government Reorganisation

Central government has asked councils across England for proposals on simplifying the structure of local government in their regions. The changes will create unitary councils that are responsible for all council services for their area, bringing county and city/district council responsibilities together under one council. 

Oxford City Council is proposing three unitary councils across Oxfordshire and West Berkshire. Closing date 12 August. You may respond here (closing date 12 Aug).

Oxfordshire County Council is proposing a unitary authority across Oxfordshire. You may respond here (closing date 27 July).
