You may be aware of the Connecting Oxford proposal. If not, you can view the proposal and more detailed information at Connecting Oxford.
Public consultation is now underway. Friends of Quarry will consider whether to respond to the consultation. You are welcome to contact us with your feedback. You also have the option to respond directly to the consultation as an individual. Details of the consultation process are on the Connecting Oxford website. The deadline for responses is 20 October 2019.
We understand that the proposal will be discussed at the next Quarry and Risinghurst Residents Meeting. That will be held on 26 September in the Mason’s Function Room (time TBC).

We will be holding the third annual Friends of Quarry Quiz night on Friday 4 October in the Mason’s Arms Function Room, starting at 2000.
Entry (on the door) is £2 per person.
There will be beer, soft drinks and wine to purchase.
Prizes will be awarded for each quiz round, and for the team that wins the overall quiz.
We hope that you will be able to join us at the Quiz.
We are looking for teams of 2, 3 or 4.

There will be an opportunity to join Friends of Quarry.

The City Council is running a consultation until August 23rd on the proposed Headington Community Council and has distributed a pamphlet to explain the consultation. The Headington Neighbourhood Forum (HNF) has delivered its own leaflet setting out the benefits.
HNF is organising a Public Meeting in Quarry Village Hall, 7:30pm on Thursday August 1st so that residents can seek information and express their opinions. HNF will also have a stall at the Saturday Market on August 3rd & 10th. See the HNF website for more information: http://headingtonplan.org.uk/

There will be a Friends of Quarry stand where you can discuss
Headington Quarry matters and help us celebrate our 60th birthday.
Our local councillors and PCSO Ahmed Mohamed have also been invited.
Please bring your own food and drink plus any old photographs or other
historical memorabilia that you may have of Quarry to allow new neighbours to understand the history of Quarry.
Park activities include slide, climbing frame, sandpit, swing and basketball ring.
In the event of bad weather, please come to the Village Hall instead.
No ticket required. Just turn up whenever you like.

Members of Friends of Quarry are invited to join the PCC on Saturday 19 January at 11.00 for an “on the ground” explanation of the proposed extension for which planning permission and a faculty have already been obtained.
Some of the practicalities of the intended building work will also be explained.

Residents may remember that Friends of Quarry produced a plan for traffic regulation in Quarry in 2013 which can be found on our website.
Recently some residents of Quarry have proposed an alternative idea which involves curtailing the free passage of cars through Quarry. You can find this at https://filterthequarry.wordpress.com, and can comment on the ideas there.
