Quarry special features meeting – 16th May

There will be a meeting to discuss Quarry’s special features on Thursday 16th May at 7.30pm in the Village Hall, Quarry Road. We will be joined at the meeting by Robert Lloyd-Sweet, Conservation Officer for Oxford City Council, who will talk about the special features, how they’re currently protected and what it means to live in a conservation area. This will be followed by an opportunity to discuss whether what else can be done to protect the area and whether residents would accept further restrictions on making changes to their properties. The meeting will be followed by a wine reception which we do hope you’ll be able to stay for.

We would be grateful if you would complete the questionnaire  and return it to friendsofquarry@googlemail.com Copies of the questionnaire have also been emailed or delivered to all members.

Please send responses by 18th November.

Please note there is an opportunity to comment in detail directly to the church’s building sub-committee and/or attend a public meeting run by the church on Tuesday 27th November – details in the attached.

Book Club

A Quarry Reading Group has recently been set up. Reading groups can give us the opportunity to reflect more on the books we read, to read a wider variety of titles and the opportunity to meet new people locally and make friends.

We are using the Oxfordshire County Libraries’ Reading Groups service, which gives us hundreds of titles from which to select.

The group is full at present, but do contact us ( spweavers@hotmail.com) if you would like guidance for starting up a group of your own.
