Recent Friends of Quarry Activities

Over the last month, Friends of Quarry have organised two community activities:

  • A Cheese and Wine evening took place on 24 February in the Village Hall. 42 people attended. The feedback was very positive. We will aim to organise further similar activities in the future – if you have any ideas or suggestions, or want to get involved, please contact us
  • The annual OxClean event took place on 4 March. 13 people spent 2 hours picking up litter around the Quarry as part of a larger, Oxford-wide, event. The feedback was that the Quarry was cleaner than in previous years, but even so, a reasonable amount of rubbish was collected. We will be organising this again on the first weekend of March 2018

Fundraising For Climbing Frame At Quarry Foundation School

Parents and teachers at Headington Quarry School are fundraising to replace the
much-loved wooden climbing frame at the school which children have enjoyed for
over 10 years. The safety certificate for the current four-tower climbing frame
expires in summer 2017.

To replace the climbing frame is going to cost in the region of £20,000, an enormous sum for our little school, but so important to keep the school’s rich outdoor environment for play and learning.

As children attend either the nursery or St Andrew’s reception for only a year or two we’re trying to reach as many former Quarry parents as we can.

If you had, have, or hope to have children at Quarry Foundation Stage School please donate
to our Climbing Frame Appeal through our Local Giving page.

https://localgiving.org/charity/HeadingtonQuarryPTA/

Right now, for a limited time all donations from £2 to £10 will be doubled by Local Giving! We can receive up to £1000 from Local Giving so this is a great opportunity for the appeal, please support us to make the most of it. Please follow the link to donate and share with anyone who you think may donate. If you would like to donate please do it as soon as you can, Local Giving’s funding to double donations is limited and likely to only last a few more days!

If you would like to give more than £10 please consider setting up a direct debit, Local Giving will match £10 for the first 3 months! Thank you!
