Holy Trinity Church Development Proposals – Your Chance to Comment

As you will be aware if you were able to attend the Friends of Quarry AGM last week, a new development proposal has been made for Holy Trinity Church.

As part of their process of consultation with the local community, representatives of Holy Trinity presented to the AGM. They have also asked us to canvass our members for your views on the proposed developments. Friends of Quarry will then prepare a consolidated response on your behalf.

More information on the proposal and an overview of the process for gaining approval for the development is at http://www.hthq.org.uk/church-building-development-updates.html.

If you wish to make any comments that you would like Friends of Quarry to include in our response, please email us at friendsofquarry@gmail.com or via our website at https://friendsofquarry.org/contact-us/.

You can also make submissions directly to Holy Trinity via Canon David Knight at: 12 Bankside, Headington Quarry, OX3 8LT or davidcknight45@gmail.com.

The deadline for submissions is Wednesday 26 November in order to allow us to summarise all responses and submit them for the Holy Trinity deadline of 28 November.

Headington Village Hall – Front Garden Tidy Up, 26 August from 0930

Headington Quarry Village Hall
Help needed with a front garden tidy up on Tuesday, 26th August from 9.30am

Could you spare some time on Tuesday next week to help tidy up the front garden area?
The nursery is closed for next week and we would like to take the opportunity to cut back the hedges etc.
If the weather is really inclement then we will be working on the hall interior and will try for another morning later in the same week.

Our village hall is owned by all who live in the parish area of Holy Trinity, held in trust by the Charity Commission and run by volunteers.  The hall needs improving and we are working hard towards raising funds to improve the toilet facilities as well as the interior and exterior of the building.  Please look at the notice board for details of refund regular activities and our fund raising events.

Stansfeld Outdoor Education Centre – Now an Asset of Community Value

Following an application by the Friends of Quarry following the first Public Meeting concerning the future of Stansfeld Outdoor Education Centre, we are pleased to report that Oxford City Council has now included the Centre on the List of Assets of Community Value.

Inclusion on the List of Assets puts in place restrictions on the sale of the property under the Localism Act, which are intended to give the local community a voice in the purpose that the land is sold for.

A copy of the Notice of Decision is attached.
